Dr. Elliot Lance, PT, DPT

Doctor of Physical Therapy, West Ashley / Downtown

Elliot was born and raised right here in South Carolina. He went to high school at Lexington High in Lexington, SC and played a ton of sports as a kid. With his life revolving around competition, he was fortunate enough to have a solid support system at home that was filled with family and friends that pushed him to become a better athlete and a fierce competitor. This was the driving force that allowed him to play baseball for Wofford College.

Baseball was Elliot’s life and he loved every second of playing for the Terriers. After his collegiate career ended, Elliot moved to Charleston to attend the Physical Therapy program at MUSC. It was the first time he wasn't involved in sports or competition of any kind. He kept working out to try to stay in shape, but he missed the camaraderie and training of being on a team.

In March 2019, Elliot tried his first CrossFit class. He immediately fell in love with the competition aspect of it and started training as a CrossFit athlete. This has shaped a lot of what Elliot believes as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and how he treats his patients. Does that mean he puts all of his patients through CrossFit workouts? No - unless that’s your goal.

What this means for Elliot is that he believes in the strength and resiliency of the human body. Elliot is a movement optimist. He believes that our bodies can do so much more than we give them credit for. Elliot ditched the traditional model of PT to preach this message of empowerment to every individual that he comes in contact with.

With this message in mind, Elliot graduated PT school and started his own Physical Therapy company right here in Charleston, SC called Prime Performance Rehab. Prime’s mission was (and still is) to bridge the gap between healthcare and performance. That mission has not changed now that he has joined the Made 2 Move team. He still is passionate about promoting movement optimism and the fact that the human body is strong, resilient, and adaptable.
